Fayetteville State University Athletics
Fayetteville State University is an NCAA Division I school, with basketball, golf, and football for men and basketball, bowling, softball, tennis, and volleyball for women. There are also cross-country and cheerleading programs for women. The team nickname is the Broncos.
The Broncos have obtained eleven different CIAA championships within various sports during the modern era. Most notably the football team won the 2002 CIAA Football Championship. The Broncos compete in bowling, cross country, football, golf, softball, tennis, volleyball, and men’s and women’s basketball.
